Dear friends of art o thek ,
With the relocation of our art o thek to the Europahaus at Elsässer Straße 17 in autumn 2024, Creative City Oberhausen was expected to experience an artistic enrichment of the city center. However, the joy over the new move was short-lived: two consecutive instances of water damage rendered the premises unusable for storing and displaying art. Thanks to temporary accommodation in the former INTEGO offices, the lending service was able to continue for you. Meanwhile, the Europahaus premises underwent extensive renovations. The work has now been successfully completed, and art o thek has returned to its original location.
As a place for encounters and cultural exchange, the art o thek offers diverse opportunities for community engagement within Oberhausen. Visitors can now borrow artworks for their homes or workplaces every Wednesday from 16 pm to 18 pm and every Thursday from 13 pm to 19 pm . Exciting events will also keep the new art space vibrant: from exhibitions and discussions with artists to Advent events, the art o club offers numerous opportunities for artistic exchange and dialogue.
Fees:
1 artwork for 3 months €15,00, for 6 months €30,00.
For frequent users, the ArticleoawnCard benefits: For €150,00, three artworks can be borrowed for up to one year. The borrowed works can be exchanged once. Cardholders receive free admission to exhibitions at the LUDWIGGALERIE Schloss Oberhausen upon presentation of their customer card! As a gift idea for art lovers, we offer ArticleoawnVouchers available from just €15,00!
