Caricatures in 3D and XXL – Part III: Bye bye, Brexit!

April 28, 2020

For 91 days, 20 hours and about 30 minutes, that is how long “Brexit is a monstrosity” by Jacques Tilly stood in our inner courtyard, pointing the way to the Little Castle.

On the occasion of the exhibition about him and his satirical caricatures and sculptures, he, with the help of his and our team, placed the monstrosity between the Great and Small Palace.

Since then, many visitors, as well as amused wedding guests and passers-by have enthusiastically captured the sculpture in photographs. Under the 14 eyes of the "open-air exhibit", hundreds of people were drawn to the vernissage on February 2nd. Thousands of people eyed it up.

But since the packaged air, "a breath of nothingness", as Tilly always describes it, was slowly but surely falling apart after a stay in England and the three months here with us, it was decided to dismantle it and transport it back to Jacques Tilly's wagon depot in Düsseldorf. Almost a dozen people were needed to load it back into the truck.

We hope that you will soon be able to see the exhibition and the remaining exhibits in the Little Castle again! Until then, you can check out our @Home interview with Jacques. Enjoy!
