In a comprehensive exhibition program, the LUDWIGGALERIE presents loans from around the world in the rooms of the neoclassical palace complex, focusing on four main aspects: The Ludwig Collection , with its extensive global holdings, is presented in Oberhausen under overarching themes. This is based on the Ludwigs' belief that all cultures of the world, from antiquity to the present day, share an intrinsic connection. The Popular Gallery is dedicated to the presentation of illustration, poster art, caricature, comics, and applied arts. The Photographic Gallery showcases exhibitions by internationally renowned photographers. The Landmark Gallery, through regular exhibition projects, accompanies the region's structural transformation and places it within an international context.
Education and communication in the LUDWIGGALERIE follow the multifaceted profile of the house and offer a wide spectrum of artistic expressions. For all exhibitions in the large house there is a specific museum education concept for children, schoolchildren and adults with events, workshops, fixed and individually bookable offers.
